My Story

The principles of behavior analysis just made sense to me!

It helped me understand why we do the things we do **spoiler alert** it’s reinforcement, punishment & extinction.

In 2020, I decided to start my own business, Objective Outcomes, as a behavior analyst and as a certified personal trainer, combining my two passions, fitness & behavior!

My fitness journey began in 2013, but my relationship with food, Weight loss and body image started in elementary.

I grew up obese and dealt with the societal pressures of looking a certain way all the way up until adulthood.

I’ve struggled with my relationship with food, my self-esteem, and understanding what true health really means.

In 2018, I had my son and that’s when my relationship with fitness and nutrition really shifted.

My mom passed away when I was 12, she was only 45. She did not take care of her health, was constantly stressed, and was in a very dysfunctional and toxic relationship with my dad.

As a new mother, I vowed to be strong, healthy, and fit for myself and for my son.

This meant I wasn’t just chasing how I looked in the mirror but rather pursuing functional fitness for positive interactions with my son and  to live a long and healthy life for my family!

Looking at fitness and health through an ABA perspective really was a game changer. I understood my behaviors will only be maintained if they contacted natural reinforcement.

I understood that my disordered eating could only be fixed if I pinpointed the problem behavior and found an adequate & appropriate replacement behavior.

Currently I help everyday people understand what their barriers are to their health and fitness goals and find solutions rooted in applied behavior analysis.

Together we can disrupt historically unhealthy behavior patterns and learn how to sustain positive behavior for life.
